What is an EAP?

An Employee Assistance Programme, commonly referred to as an EAP, is a workplace benefit that provides employees with access to a confidential helpline and counselling, 24/7, as well as wellbeing resources to support a variety of personal and professional issues.

An EAP service provides help to employees who may be facing challenges such as poor mental health, relationship problems, bereavement or financial stress that is affecting their performance at work or personal lives.

86% believe their employer has responsibility for their health and wellbeing, with two-thirds (62%) saying wellbeing support provided makes them less likely to want to move elsewhere.

24/7/365 EAP helpline

Answered by qualified British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) counsellors who provide in the moment emotional support

Ease of access

Employees can also contact the EAP service via live chat, email, online or request a call-back. We provide access in over 200 languages. We offer an inclusive service through translation, Relay and British Sign Language (BSL)

Triage and clinical assessment

We adopt a biopsychosocial assessment including risk assessment to determine the best support for the employee

Short-term solution focused counselling

Counselling sessions delivered by telephone, video and face to face (in-person)

Support for dependents and immediate family

In line with HMRC guidance

Management consultancy

Providing managers with advice on how best to support individuals in emotional distress such as bereavement, divorce, redundancy or other matter brought into the workplace

Signposting

Onward referrals and signposting to specialist support agencies and services
